Lacey & Callum - A Dark, Edgy Shoot in Cumbria
7th December 2017
A few weeks back, my friend and fellow photographer Jade text me to ask me to come and be part of a project she and her friend Rachel had organised in the Lake District (Rachel is another photographer who unfortunately was unable to make it). The project sounded so cool and because I’m obsessed with the Lake District, as soon as I knew I could definitely go, I said YES PLEASE.
Rob and I go to the Lake District together at least once a year and have done since we got together 8 and a half year ago so it’s my happy place <3
We met at the model Lacey’s house the next morning, where Lacey’s boyfriend Callum was too, and Jade drove us all up to Cumbria, (thankfully the weather was perfect – grey ish skies with a hint of blue and DRY). Even though it’s an almost 2 hour drive, it seemed to go by in a flash thanks to beautiful scenery, some sarnies from Tesco courtesy of Jade and of course lots of chats about our plans and our year so far.
The photoshoot was to take place at the Eden Wedding Barn in Cumbria – it was funny actually because we didn’t realise we were actually AT the barn and as we drove past Jade went “omg look at that place, how cute!” and then we spotted the sign saying Eden Wedding Barn!!
I love working on collaborations like this because I get to meet so many fab suppliers from all over the country. The theme for the photoshoot was Dark & Edgy Glamour and the 2 dresses that our model Lacey wore from Legel Bridal (www.legendbridaldesigns.co.uk) were absolutely amazing. Both SO unique and just COOL - totally in love with them both and have to say, I’d never seen wedding dresses like it before.
Jade & Rachel had also sourced some cute, quirky little pieces of jewellery from Binky Bones, a totally suave and stylish suit from Groom Hire (https://www.groomhire.co.uk), some gorgeous stationary from (https://www.graystarling.com) , flowers by Bizzi Lizi (www.instagram.com/bizzilizziflowers) and lighting by Typical Type (https://typicaltype.co.uk) who provided the most amazing Edison Halo Light ring, I mean seriously have you ever seen something so cool?!
