Rustic, Love-filled Wedding in Charnock Farm, Leyland: Jennifer & Ross

From the moment I arrived at Charnock Farm for Jen and Ross’s wedding, I knew it was going to be a special one.  The venue is amazing! As soon as you go in through a cute little green door, you enter a lovely, big open room with lots of light, fairylights and a bar.  There’s a huge, separate room upstairs for bridal preparations that has mirrors galore, couches and plenty of space for Prosecco bottles, shoes and dresses.

Jen was getting her makeup done downstairs whilst her bridesmaids had their hair done and potted about upstairs in their personalised silk robes, sipping bubbly and eating homemade tiffin!  Jen looked absolutely stunning and Joshy, her and Ross’s little boy looked so handsome in his little tiny suit.

Jen had bought Ross a surprise gift so I followed the Bestman down to give him it so I could capture the look on his face J love little moments like that!

The ceremony room looked totally incredible and what made it all the more impressive was that Jen and her bridesmaids and handmade most of the little bits dotted around – even the confetti which was ivy leaves cut up in to cute little hearts and shapes.  I was amazed to hear that all of the ivy in the room was handpicked from Jen’s mum and dad’s garden  - I mean, how amazing and personal is that?  The decorations around the chandeliers in particular looked done by a professional! I told Jen she should totally go in to wedding styling!!! It was just stunning – so simple and natural yet so effective.

Jen’s beautiful flowers, the bridesmaids flowers and the buttonholes were made by my favourite florist, who I’ve worked with a few times – Carys from Flowers by Carys (www.flowersbycarys.com). Before Carys even got there, I knew they’d looked gorgeous and of course, they did!

After a really lovely ceremony, everyone congregated for drinks and hellos’ before Janina Brocklesby (who was second shooting with me that day), took the newlyweds off for their portraits. It genuinely felt like I was on a photoshoot with 2 models. Janina and I, and the wedding co-ordinator at Charnock Farm all said several times that people would think it was styled shoot and not a genuine wedding. What a beautiful & stylish pair!  They were so natural and sweet together in front of the camera too.

The speeches followed soon after, before the meals, and as ever, they were full of laughs and tears.  The speeches touched upon a couple of people that sadly are no longer with us and I know for sure, they must’ve been super proud of Jen and Ross because even just as their photographer,  having only spent a day with them, I can tell what wonderful people they and their whole family and friends are. Such a lovely bunch <3

Feast your eyes on these anyway… just a snippet out of their full gallery and it was VERY hard to narrow down my favourites to share here! Thank you again for booking me Jen and Ross,  it’s weddings like yours that make this job the best on the planet. I wish you both and little Joshy of course, a life of happiness x
